There was a man named Balaam
Who was on his way to Moab;
He was going to curse the children of God,
And receive a big reward.

On the way his donkey saw
An angel with a fiery sword;
The donkey stopped and Balaam whipped it,
And then it happened again.

On the third time the donkey said,
“Why do you whip me so”;
The Balaam saw the angel of God,
And understood his beast.

Balaam then went on his way
To the plains of Moab;
And when he got there he built altars,
And blessed the children of God.
