In the days of the Judges

Lived a woman named Ruth.
The land of Moab

Was her home in her youth.

When death caused her mother-in-law,
Naomi to feel alone,
Ruth showed her kindness
To make her strong.

Ruth, Ruth she’s a hero to me;
In the face of sadness she was KIND as can be.

When Naomi was departing
She wanted Ruth to stay behind.
Ruth met her crisis with the following reply:
She said I’ll go where you go,

And I’ll lodge where you ledge;
Your people will be my people,
And your God will be my God.

She showed how FAITHFUL a person could be.

Ruth worked in the fields at harvest time;
From morn’ till eve’ she did not mind.
She did not say, “its all for me”,
She shared what she had with her family.

Ruth married kind Boaz,

In Jesus’ fam’ly tree.
